National Cross-Country at Malvern College

On a beautifully calm and sunny day, 8 Hallfield children join the best runners from all around the country – from Yorkshire to Devon to London-to compete in the National Prep Schools Cross-country. In total 45 schools competed and over 200 boys running in the U11 race! The U11 girls ran first and the steep up and downs of the course was challenging for our girls, but they tried really hard and we very pleased to finish the course – well done Jaiya, Sylvie, Aman and Mariia.

The boys race was almost like a sprint with the winner finishing in under 10 minutes! Our boys gave it their best with Jeevan finishing in a respectable 122nd.  With 3 Year 5s in the team we look to improve next year and must practice more hill training! It was a great event where we tried our hardest against the elite of the country. Well done Jeevan T, Josh, Ishaan J and George.

Year 3 Rugby

A fantastic morning of Year 3’s playing rugby in the sunshine, with great team spirit and a tightly contested competition! Well done to all the boys for their effort and sportsmanship.

Hallfield Green vs Solihull under 11’s

The girls made a good start to the match and the ball moved from one end to the other, at a fast pace. In the 1st quarter, despite good team work, Solihull scored to make the score 1-0. Moving into the 2nd quarter, Siyana, Sylvie and Daya moved the ball well and secured lots of possession in the attacking end of the court to score and level the game at this point However, despite the best efforts from Eesha and Iyla, Solihull were able to score a further 3 goals. In the 3rd quarter, Hallfield showed great character to pull a goal back, but Solihull added a further 2. Into the 4th and final quarter, the girls showed good characted and determination through solid defence to prevent Solihull from scoring any more goals. With help from Summer and Mishaal, Hallfield were able to score a final goal. This game ended in a 6-3 win to Solihull. Player of the match, Siyana. Well done!

Hallfield Red Team v Solihull

A great match with some super play from both teams. The game ebbed and flowed from one end to the other with both teams scoring some good goals and creating great opportunities to score. Despite some good link up play and solid defence from Mariia and Aya in the first quarter Solihull were able to open up a 2 -0 lead. The sunny conditions in the second quarter hampered Mia and Reet when shooting, the girls continued to work hard but Solihull stretched their lead to 4. Throughout the second half of the game Hallfield grew in confidence Aman made some key interceptions and Aisha and Leila linked up well to give the shooters good opportunities to score. Two quick goals pulled Hallfield right back into the game but unfortunately, they were unable to close the gap. Final score 5-2 to Solihull. Player of the match Aisha. Well done girls!

House Cross Country

On the Friday before half-term all Prep boys and girls ran for their House in the annual Cross-country race around the school fields. The course was wet in places but was dry enough to allow the children to run through the trees and up and over the muddy hump. Well done to everyone who competed as you contributed to your House’s score – the total number of places divided by the number of children in the House in that age group. We will keep the House scores a secret until the end of term Break Up assembly!

U9 Football v Highclare

The return of the boys playing football saw the U9A and B travel away to Highclare on Tuesday. The A team played well against a Highclare team who had a few players absent. The boys played well and dominated the game, winning comfortably. The B team had a tougher match, although our goalkeeper did not have much to do! We played well individually but now need to work on our passing, moving and using the space. Final score was 1 – 0 to Hallfield.

U11 v Highclare

On Wednesday afternoon, Highclare U11 A, B and C came to play our U11s. The A team was a thrilling match with Hallfield coming back from trailing 2 – 0. With the last kick of the game we managed to score the equaliser to make the final score 3 – 3. A great determination was shown by the team and this will hopefully give us a lift for the next 2 matches. In both the B and C team matches Hallfield were the stronger team and managed to win both games comfortably.

Invitational Cross-country U9 and U11

On Friday afternoon, we hosted the invitational cross country on our fields! All pupils from Highclare Preparatory School, West House School, Prestfelde School, Solihull School, Norfolk House School, Royal Grammar School Worcester and Hallfield School participated with great determination and high energy! It was a gloriously sunny afternoon, well done to everyone!
