Well done to all the girls who participated in the House Netball matches on Monday. There was some excellent play from each House and the matches were both competitive and played with good sportsmanship.
The results were as follows:
1st – Pughe
2nd – Nowers
3rd – Ridgway
4th – Stork
Y3&4 House Matches 22.03.22
A big congratulations to Y3 and 4 girls, all of whom represented their Houses in Netball matches on Tuesday. The matches demonstrated how far the girls have come with their understanding and skills this term.
The competition could not have been closer and was really a 4 way tie!! Every House won 1, drew 1 and lost 1 making their total points 6 each. We then had to go to most goals scored… Unfortunately Ridgway only scored 1 whereas the other 3 Houses all scored 2! We then had to go to goals conceded… Stork only conceded 1 goal and Pughe and Nowers conceded 2 each! We THEN had to go on the result of the Pughe – Nowers match which Nowers won 2-1.
After all that, the final order was as follows:
1st – Stork
2nd – Nowers
3rd – Pughe
4th – Ridgway
U11A vs Eversfield A Netball 23.03.2022
It was a very exciting last match of the season for our U11A team on Wednesday. Even though we lost the toss, we still ended up with the first centre pass as Eversfield decided they would rather choose to shoot away from the sun. Eversfield overturned possession and had the first shot at goal which they scored. This only spurred Hallfied on and we retaliated by scoring another 3 in succession with excellent skills from Elizabeth and Anisa in the D. Eversfield managed to score once more just before the end of the first quarter, bringing the score to 3-2 to Hallfield. The second quarter was really end to end with neither team getting the better of the other. Eversfield were strong in attack but they were no match for Riya and Jeeya who made so many interceptions in the D it was remarkable. The second quarter finished with each team scoring another 1 goal apiece. Hallfield pulled out all the stops in the third quarter with Freya, Chloe and Muskaan really coming into force in centre court and ensuring Eversfield could not get past us. Anisa and Elizabeth managed to score a further 3 goals between them and Eversfield did not score at all. The final quarter was just as exciting at the previous ones. Isha was key here; closely marking her player and overturning possession and then making excellent passes going forward. Hallfield scored a further 2 to Everfield’s 1. The final score was 9-4 to Hallfield. Isha was voted as the Girl of the Game. A big congratulations to all the girls who played; it was a hot and sunny day and the girls really outdid themselves with their effort and teamwork. Wishing you all the best of luck for your future careers in Netball as you move on!
U13A Boys Football vs Winterfold 23.03.22
Seniors 1: won 7-6. Winterfold scored a bicycle kick out of nothing and Hallfield showed amazing resilience and positivity to come back from a 4-1 deficit. Anthony was man of the match with 5 goals, including the winning goal where he rounded the keeper.
Seniors 2: lost 8-7 in a very tight exchange. We took an early 3-0 lead in a match which to’d and fro’d but Winterfold took advantage of their larger squad with substitutions when Hallfield tired a little towards the end. Riyaan was man of the match with 5 assists and 2 goals. Excellent team spirit was shown throughout both matches and Seniors did themselves proud.
