U10 Red Team v Eversfield

The girls got off to a really good start passing the ball well and using the space on the court. The girls took an early lead with some good link up play between Jaiya, Halima and Maidah but Eversfield came back into the game and scored some good goals to take a 3-1 lead at the end of the first quarter. Good teamwork and improved defending by Sumayyah and Mia in the second quarter enabled Hallfield to score again but Eversfield extended their lead to 5-2. After half time the girls came out with renewed determination. Mahi worked well to feed the ball into the circle and with improved use of the space the girls put Eversfield onto the back foot. Good conversion of shots from both Halima and Jaiya saw the team draw level at 5-5 at the end of the third period. A frenetic last quarter saw both teams make some mistakes which gave the opposition time to score. The scores were level at 6-6 until the final few minutes when Eversfield managed to score and secure the win. A great team effort and improved performance well done to all of the girls. Player of the game was Jaiya.

The game flowed well with the ball moving up and down the court, some good defence from Tarya and Rheya limited Eversfield’s chances but they managed to score again to end the first half with a 2-1 lead. During the second half Aoife linked well with Dani and Emily to provide opportunities to score, however, despite getting really close the ball wouldn’t go in. Jeevan made some great interceptions in defence but Eversfield were able to score again just before the final whistle to make it 3-1. A super first game in which the girls learnt a lot. Well done to all of the girls. Player of the game Aoife.
