U9 v Solihull
Red, Green, Blue and Purple teams travelled to Solihull to play hockey – in total 28 girls represented the school. Each of the teams played 4 matches against Solihull with matches lasting seven minutes one way. There was some super play from all the girls with lots of goals being scored. All of the girls worked hard to move the ball around the pitch, trying hard to focus on improving their positional play and supporting each other with accurate passing. There was a lot of confident defending and excellent clearing of the ball. No formal scores were taken from this festival of Hockey but the girls all benefitted greatly from the experience.
Green Team v RGS The Grange
The Green team hosted RGS The Grange on Wednesday afternoon. The game got off to a really quick start with RGS pressurising the Hallfield defence and scoring almost straight from the start. A little bit taken a back the girls dug deep, and replied with a great goal from Aya almost as quickly as RGS had scored. With the scores level the play was end to end Mishaal and Siyana worked hard to stop RGS getting into the D and Eesha made some important saves. Up front Aya was continuing to make good runs and she latched onto a through ball to make it 2-1 to Hallfield. Almost immediately RGS came back and managed to equalise. At 2-2 Mia made some super runs from midfield and put in some important tackles. As we edged towards half time, Sofia and Iyla showed some great play to enable Mia and Aya to add to the score. Half -time 4-2 to Hallfield.
The second half followed much the same pattern as the first as the play went from end to end. Sofia and Iyla worked hard on the wings to get the ball into the D and Mariia made some super tackles in defence to repel the attack. Aya and Iyla both scored great goals to make the final score 6-3 to Hallfield. A great game with some super team work. Well done girls! Player of the Match was Aya.
Red Team v RGS The Grange
On Wednesday our year six girls (red team) played RGS the Grange. Despite the rain we had some excellent performances on the pitch with the red team winning their match 3-0, with goals scored by Aisha, Daya and Aman. We saw some impressive defensive work from Nicole and Leila as well as our goalkeeper Reet who did not concede a single goal. The girls displayed superb teamwork with some exceptional passes being made by Sylvie. Special mention goes to Aman who was voted player of the match for her role as centre midfielder. Congratulations to all the girls on their super performance.
