The tradition of holding our Speech Day at St George’s Church was sadly not an option in these unusual times, but, in true Hallfield style, we held an open-air event from our Pavilion and extensive field.
The ceremony was opened by Head Master, Mr Keith Morrow, who gave his end of year address. He thanked all of the teachers and support staff who have enabled learning to continue for children coming into school and for those accessing remote learning from home. We then welcomed our Head Girl and Boy and Deputy Head Girl and Boy to address the audience with their thought-provoking speeches which reflected on the events of the past few months.
We then awarded prizes for Subjects, Sport and Chess. Mr Batchelor, who was Guest of Honour, presented each pupil with their Hallfieldian ties and bracelets. We look forward to keeping in touch with all our Old Hallfieldians and hearing news of their future successes.
Mr Morrow concluded the event by presenting the Allday Cup and Derry Bowl; more information about these awards and all prize winners can be found in the Year 6 Speech Day and Prize Giving Programme 2020.
