The first stage of the admissions process is to complete and return the school’s Registration Form, together with payment of the Registration Fee.

Children registered for entry to Foundation and Reception are invited into school for a taster session.

Children registered for entry from Year 1 to Year 8 are invited into school for a taster day and to complete an entry assessment (English and Maths).

Yes – we do offer Assisted Places (Bursaries) for entry from Year 3 to Year 8.

When registered children attend for assessment, parents are asked to complete a financial declaration.

Year 3 – Academic, Art, Sport, Chess and Music.

Seniors – Academic, Sport, Music, Art and Language.

Yes – up to 15 hours, dependent on the number of days attended.

Classes are a maximum of 22 pupils.

Hallfield First: 08:00 to 16:30 or 18:00

Pre-Prep: 08:30 to 15:30

Prep: 08:30 to 16:00

Seniors: 08:30 to 16:00

Breakfast Club is available from 07:30 to 08:00, for an additional charge.

After School Club is available until 17:00 inclusive of fees.

There is further after care provision from 17:00 – 18:00 at an additional charge unless your child is in Hallfield Seniors where after care until 18:00 is included within the fees.

Collection points differ depending on the club. We will advise where to collect from depending on which club they are attending.

Internal clubs are usually free of charge.

Clubs run by external providers are usually chargeable.

ParentMails are sent out with links to sign up

We offer a number of clubs during the school holidays, which run every day 08:00 – 16:30 (apart from Bank Holidays and weekends). Information is sent via ParentMail ahead of the holidays. There is an additional charge for children that want to stay longer between 16:30 – 18:00.

Class music lessons start in Foundation, and pupils get 40 minutes a week, increasing to an hour a week from Year 1 – Year 8. Children can start group singing lessons in Year 1.

From the start of the Summer Term of Year 2 we sponsor pupils to learn an orchestral musical instrument for 3 full terms (1 academic year). This scheme is only available to children continuing into Year 3 at Hallfield School. 

Internal fixtures are introduced in Year 2. External fixtures begin in Year 3.

Pupils begin learning French in Foundation and this continues through Pre-Prep.

In Prep pupils learn Spanish and French.

In Year 6 and Seniors, the amount of MFL teaching increases and pupils get the chance to go on a trip to France.

LAMDA is taught by a peripatetic teacher. They teach Speaking Verse and Prose and Acting to pupils from Year 4 upwards (usually taught in trios). We also offer a free after-school LAMDA club for Year 4 pupils only.
