Girls Cricket
On Monday the Hallfield Griffin’s played a brilliant match against Solihull. This was many of the girls first match this season however this didn’t affect the girls play. In the first innings Hallfield was fielding. Throughout the overs we saw 4 wickets bowled and we proceeded to get a further three more out with one catch and the rest thrown at the wicket. This gave us a lovely start to our batting score in the second innings. During our batting we saw a few 4’s scored as well as countless single runs all making a difference to the final score. The score ended 96-86 to Hallfield. Well played girls!
U10 Phoenix vs Solihull, 22.05.23, 83-62 win
The U10 girls had a great game against Solihull on Monday. This was their first game on grass and the girls stepped up to the challenge. Hallfield started off batting and put in a strong performance. There were several 4s and a 6 hit, as well as lots of individual runs made. Solihull managed to get us out twice, but it was a good start for Hallfield, finishing their innings on 78 runs. Solihull then came into bat and the Hallfield girls showed their proficiency as bowlers. Our bowling accuracy was good, and we gave away very few no balls or wides, which put us at a real advantage over Solihull. Some of the girls put in some fast bowls which were very difficult to hit and stopped Solihull making many runs. We protected the boundaries and even made a catch. Solihull finished on 62 runs and 5 runs were added to the Hallfield scoreline for the catch, making the final score 83-62 to Hallfield. Very well played girls!
U9s vs Norfolk House
The U9 girls all participated in 3 10-minute games of continuous cricket on Tuesday afternoon. This was a high scoring game where the girls couldn’t get out but had to hit non-stop balls bowled to them by the teacher. There were some great hits by the Hallfield girls, many of them sending balls to the far reaches of the pitch. All the girls from Hallfield showed they could hit the moving ball and make a run for the wicket. When in the field, we saw someone make a catch and some great balls thrown directly at the wicket from our fielders. There was lots of learning and fun taking place. Well done to all the girls!
Dragon U10 team
The girls won the toss and elected to bowl first. The team got off to a good start taking a wicket in the first over. Good accurate bowling and some quick thinking out in the field saw more wickets taken and Solihull limited to a score of 54.
All of the girls batted confidently, there were a number of 4s scored and some good running between the wickets. Some wickets were lost in the 10 overs but a total of 67 was scored.
Final score (with wickets added) 87 – 74 a super win for the girls. Well done!
