U9 A v West House
I was very proud of the U9s during their defeat to West House on Tuesday. They performed admirably and concentrated in the field well which is tough at a young age. They bowled accurately and there were some magnificent runouts. Their target is to protect their wicket and hit the ball along the ground as we have many runs taken away when we lost wickets. Special mention to Captain Thomas Balfour and to Ansh Praveen for his batting. They have made excellent progress this season and I look forward to seeing how they develop going forwards.
U9 B, C, D.
In some tough matches against West House the boys and girls tried their best. In the Bs, we needed to hit the bad ball to the boundary and defend the straight one. Some of the bowling was a bit inaccurate but I hope this will improve soon. The exciting game was the D team where West House needed 11 off the last over. They got close but were out on the last ball meaning that Hallfield won by 8 runs, well done!

Hallfield U13A vs KES U12B
KES elected to bat and after 3 overs were 2 wickets down after Zain and Hafsa had bowled their openers out. Then Old Hallfieldian Rithvik batted extremely well to reach his 50. KES ended on 120 for 6. In reply Rayaan looked strong but unfortunately edged one to the keeper. Dylan and Rohan batted well but fell behind the run rate as they face some tight bowling. At the end of our 20 overs, we were 25 runs off the total. Well done to everyone who played!
Hallfield U13B vs KES U12C
KES batted first and ran very well, often picking up quick singles. Hallfield bowled well, taking two early wickets and some indecisive running lead to a run out. KES then had some strong batsmen in the middle of the order and eventually put up an impressive score of 120. After tea, Hallfield came out to bat and lost a wicket early on. Some impressive KES bowling lead to several wickets being taken quickly and we ended up on 75 all out. The U11 boys that stepped up played superbly and it was a good experience against the older boys.
