On Wednesday 11 May 2022, Mr & Mrs Morrow were guests of Her Majesty The Queen, at a Royal Garden Party, the first held in three years, at Buckingham Palace. Unfortunately, Her Majesty was not in attendance. The event was hosted by The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall and The Princess Royal. Mr Morrow received his surprise invitation in February by email for “services to education”, although he thought it was a spam email until the official invitation arrived later in the post from Buckingham Palace.
Whilst the afternoon was rather wet, the gardens in Buckingham Palace still looked magnificent in the rain! The afternoon tea was rather special and supplies were plentiful. Everyone was in the party mood and the military bands kept us all entertained with nostalgic tunes. There was a walkabout by the Royal Party and Mr Morrow even managed a chat with Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, who was keen to know whether he had managed to get a cup of tea and apologised for the weather, but said we should be used to it, living in Britain!
Mr & Mrs Morrow had a rather special day and will treasure the memories for many years to come. Mr Morrow is not the only member of his family to be off to Buckingham Palace this summer. His eldest son, Jacob, is there in a week’s time to be presented with his Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award. Congratulation to Jacob!
