U11A vs EHS 26.01.22
It was a fantastic start to the season for the U11 A team this week. We won the toss against EHS and chose the first centre pass. The first quarter was end to end with some excellent play from the girls in centre court; Hafsa, Chloe and Isha. The score was 0-0 at this point. In the second quarter the goals started. Anisa and Elizabeth had some beautiful shots and managed to get a goal each. The score was now 2-1 at the end of this quarter. We managed to get another goal in the third quarter and prevent EHS from scoring again. Our defensive team of Riya, Jeeya and Muskaan were outstanding, ensuring we overturned possession and preventing EHS from any attempts at scoring. It was 3-1 to Hallfield going into the final quarter. The ball was passed rapidly from player to player and EHS were coming back strong. EHS managed to score 3 goals in this quarter and we scored another 2. It was a nail-biting finish but Hallfield were victorious with a 5-4 win. Excellent play girls, well done!
U11B vs EHS
The U11B had a hard but thrilling match on Wednesday against EHS. Although EHS started with the ball, our strong centre court players Hannah and Mia were quick to work together to intercept the ball and put our team into the attack. Throughout the first quarter, Aaviya and Maanya put in some incredible interceptions however EHS scored 2 goals. In the second quarter, we were quick to start with the ball with Shania playing as centre and making a great pass to Maanya. The shooting duo Gursimar and Avarni had some great attempts at scoring and finally this paid off with a great shot from Avarni! This made the score 2-1.
After half time and going into the third quarter we had a rough start with EHS scoring three consecutive goals. However, our centre court players continued to hold off EHS for the rest of the quarter and stopped them from any further opportunities to shoot with the addition of Ria to support with intercepting and accurately passing the goal straight to the attacking D for any opportunities to shoot. In the last quarter, we continued to suppress the opposition and kept them in centre court for the majority of the 7 minutes. However, a last-minute goal from them brought the final result to 6-1. Well played girls on your first netball fixture of the season.
EHS awarded the player of the match to Mia. Well done Mia! It was a pleasure to coach you.
