Martin was a former parent who made a great contribution to the Board of Governors. He was a chartered Surveyor with extensive experience in leasehold property matters and was a key member of the group of Governors involved in the renewal of Hallfield’s lease agreement which was signed in 2013 between Hallfield School and Calthorpe Trust. Martin spent many hours reaching a successful outcome securing the school’s site for another century. He even interrupted a shooting holiday on location in the New Forest to prioritise the negotiations. Martin was also instrumental in the acquisition of the Head Master’s house in Wizard Walk, so he played an important part in the history of Hallfield. He was very level-headed and gave many wise contributions to our discussions.

At the AGM in January 2015, the Governors thanked and said goodbye to Martin as he stood down as a Governor.

We send our heartfelt thoughts to Martin’s family at this sad time.
