U10 Winterfold
U10 v Winterfold – Red Team
The girls first match of the season was a 5 a side match where the girls rotated around all positions. The girls worked hard but came up against a strong team from Winterfold. During the first period of the game the speed of the Winterfold players took Hallfield by surprise, they overturned possession and took a healthy 5-0 lead. During the second period Hallfield made some good interceptions and had periods of controlled possession but unfortunately were unable to score. Throughout the latter part of the game the girls worked hard, showed great determination but couldn’t quite get close enough to the post to score. Despite a final score of 14-0 the girls had worked hard, learnt a lot and developed their game play. Well done to Jaiya, Aditi, Halima, Tabetha and Mia
U10 Green team v Winterfold
A good first match of the season with two evenly matched teams playing ou an exciting game. The girls all rotated around the positions and developed their understanding of the game. Some super play in the first period saw Hallfield take a 2-0 lead. Winterfold then came back at Hallfield to halve the deficit. Some great defending and consistent shooting enabled Hallfield to stretch their lead during the third and fourth periods and with one session left the girls lead 8-4. Although quite tired from a long match the girls dug deep and managed to keep Winterfold at bay with some great defending to secure a 8-5 victory well done to Maidah, Alaura, Isabella, Mahi. Anchal and Amaya.
U9 Red team v RGS The Grange
A home fixture for the girls this week saw a dominant performance against RGS. With a squad of 7 players rotating around 5 positions the team dynamics changed during each period of play. Hallfield got off to a great start with Millie scoring regularly to take a 5-0 lead. During the second period the girls worked hard to maintain possession Haniya worked well to create lots of opportunities and Yasmine and Amal showed some great defensive skills but unfortunately the girls were unable to add to the score. As the rain started to get heavier the team showed resilience to maintain their focus and set high levels of play. Amber scored some super goals, and Anna and Hannah showed their support with excellent passes into the circle, at the end of the fourth period the girls had a dominant 7-0 lead. During a very wet final session the girls did not let up, they did not afford RGS much possession and even fewer attempts on goal. They managed to add 2 more goals to their tally to run out 9-0 winners. Well done on a super team performance.
Netball v RGS The Grange
Hallfield’s Year 4 girls played a fantastic 5-a-side netball match on Tuesday, showcasing great teamwork and versatility as they rotated through different positions. Their strong communication on court helped them maintain possession for most of the game, despite RGS applying defensive pressure and managing to score. The girls adapted brilliantly to the challenging weather conditions, with heavy rain throughout, and their determined attacking play secured an impressive 5-1 victory. A fantastic effort from everyone—well done, girls!
U11 Green Team v RGs The Grange
This game was played as a 7 a side against RGS, split into 7-minute quarters. Hallfield were able to attack at a fast pace with Iyla and Mishaal working well to help create a 2-0 lead. With defence from Leila and Aya, the team were able to prevent RGS from scoring, in the second quarter. With a few changes for the third quarter, Hallfield were able to score a further 3 goals, with Mia getting the ball into the attacking third. In the final quarter, Hallfield lost their spark and conceded 3 goals against RGS. However, Siyana managed to pull this back and went on to score a further 2 goals. The score ended in 7-3 to Hallfield, well done!
U11 Red Team v RGS The Grange
The girls faced a tough opposition who made it difficult for Hallfield to maintain possession of the ball. Aman, Eesha and Summer worked hard in the centre court to try to overturn possession but at the end of the first quarter RGS were leading 4-0. The girls worked hard in defence to try to limit the opposition’s possession, Mariia and Aisha worked tirelessly to make interceptions but sharp shooting from RGS saw them extend their lead. During the third quarter Hallfield gained more possession of the ball and saw increased goal threats unfortunately Reet and Daya were unable to convert these and RGS pulled further ahead. Throughout the last quarter Hallfield showed great resilience to defend the ball well and made it more difficult for RGS. However the girls were unable to capitaise on the increased pressure and the final result was 16-0 to RGS. Super determination girls against a very strong opposition. Player of the game – Mariia. Well done!
Monday
U10 A v Eversfield
Hallfield got off to a slow start with limited tackling and a number of mistakes. This meant that Eversfield had a comfortable 5 – 1 lead at half time. Then we woke up and started putting in some proper tackles and ran with great determination with the ball in hand. In the last few minutes we managed to equalise the scores and in the last minute managed to go one try ahead. In the last play of the game our defence held strong and we sneaked the victory. It was a great game for everyone and gave our boys some belief in themselves. Final score 8 – 7 win.
U10 B v Eversfield
Another exciting game with our boys running well but needing to hold on in the tackle. Final score 13 – 12 win.
Tuesday
U9 A v Eversfield
From the start Hallfield looked the stronger, quicker and more physical than Eversfield and we took a lead after a few minutes. We tried passing the ball more, in order to get the ball quicker into the space. The tackling was again superb which only let one try through in the whole game! Well done to all the team in some very wet conditions at the end. Final score 6 – 1 win.
U9B v Eversfield
In difficult conditions the boys tried hard and ran with determination when they had the ball, however the lack of tackles meant that their taller players managed to run right through us. Final score 12 – 6 loss.
Wednesday
U11 A v Eversfield
This was a was a much better game than the last few matches that we have played. The boys tried really hard to put into place what we had been practising. We ran strongly with the ball and managed to put together a few good passages of play. We even completed 3 successful jackals. Mr Woollhead was really proud of them. Well done! The final score was 10-3 win.
Thursday
U8 Reds v Eversfield
Great rugby from both sides today in lovely rugby conditions. However, our tagging was superb and in attack we ran brilliantly with the ball and the support play made us undefendable. A great win – well done!
U8 Oranges v Eversfield
Some great tagging, running straight and hard, and a few brilliant solo runs, but end to end stuff. A fantastic afternoon of rugby. Ended in a draw 11-11.
