Red team v Highclare
A good competitive second match of the season. Playing seven a side gave the girls a different experience which they coped well with. Good link up play through the court between Hannah L, Millie and Anna enabled Amber to regularly throughout the first half and saw the girls 6-1 up at the end of the first half. Highclare came back during the second half , they took some opportunities to score and pulled 3 goals back. However, excellent defending from Hannah J and Haniya enabled Hallfield to defend their lead and continued good work in the attacking third saw the girls run out 8-4 winners. A great game with some super team play. Well done!
Green team v Highclare
The girls adjusted well to playing seven a side this week. They worked hard through the centre court and took an early lead through some super shooting from Amaya and Yasmine worked hard in the defensive third making many interceptions and limiting Highclare to a few chances to score. At half time the score was 3-0 to Hallfield. Throughout the second half good centre court play from Vithi, Bethany, Mahi and Midian afforded Amaya further opportunity to score, which she took well. Final score was 6-0 to Hallfield a great team performance, well done!
Red team v Highclare
The girls played well from the start of the match over turning early pressure to score in the first few minutes. Reet displayed consistent shooting throughout the match and developed some good link up play with Daya. The ball was moved well across the centre third with Eesha and Aman making some key interceptions. At the end of the first quarter Hallfield lead by 3-0. During the second quarter the defence had little to do but when called upon Mariia and Aisha showed good defensive skills to limit Highclare’s chances. At half time the score was 6-0. During this time some positional changes were made, Mishaal and Mariia worked hard to support the attack and help get the ball into the D whilst Aisha moved from defence into attack and struck up a good relationship with Reet in the circle. At the end of the third quarter the score was 8-0. Further positional changes for the last quarter showed the girls’ versatility Aisha scored and Daya, Eesha, Reet and Aman displayed super defensive skills. A final score of 9-0 showed a dominant performance. Well done! Player of the game Mariia.
U11 Netball v The Priory
The U11 team played their first netball match of the season at home to The Priory. The girls began well with some good possession Iyla found great space to support the attack but unfortunately the team couldn’t turn this into goals. On the counterattack Priory scored to take an early lead in the first quarter. During the second quarter the girls tried hard to find space and feed the ball into attack. Good movement from Reet and Aman meant the team had lots of possession which finally paid off with a goal. At half time the scores were level. Throughout the second half of the match the ball moved from end to end. Good defence from Aisha, Mariia, Mishaal and Eesha limited Priory’s opportunity to score whilst Mia, Daya, Sylvie and Siyana linked up well to give Hallfield greater opportunity to score. Daya scored a beautiful goal from quite far out to ensure the team had a good lead going into the last quarter. Despite some good attacks from Priory the girls continued to work hard and finished the match with a 5-1 win. A great start to the season, well done! Player of the match Mariia.
Green team v Highclare
This match was played as a 7 a side game, against Highclare. As there were only 2 periods to the game, players remained in their positions. Hallfield got off to a good start controlling the play in the centre third through Leila, Iyla and Sylvie which gave Siyana the opportunity to score. At half time the score was 1-0. As the match went on into the second half, Hallfield produced some great defence, with Norah, Mishaal and Aya preventing Highclare from scoring. The girls began passing the ball more quickly and this helped them to create greater space on court. The team finished with a 3-0 victory with Sylvie scoring 2. Well done!
Green team vs Norfolk House
This game consisted of a 7 a side against Norfolk House. The girls worked hard in the first half to create lots of chances, Leila, Iyla and Sylvie worked hard to maintain possession, however it remained as 0-0 during the first period, with great defending from Norfolk House. The ball flew back and forth during the second period, with both teams attempting to score. Towards the end of the game Sylvie managed to receive the ball in a brilliant position to score, resulting in a 1-0 win for Hallfield. Player of the game, Leila. Well done!
It has been a busy week for the boys with 16 away matches of rugby against West House, so nearly every boy represented the school. Everyone tried hard in often very wet and muddy conditions!
