U11 Green team vs Highclare

Against a resilient Highclare team, our Under 11 Green team worked extremely hard to secure a confident win. Some great hockey was played, with all the girls listening to each other and fulfilling their roles well. An organised defence made it difficult for Highclare to mount an attack, and some neat finishing and link-up play from our forwards ensured Hallfield maintained good possession throughout the game.  Well done to all who played!

5-0 WIN!

U11 Red team vs Highclare

The red team got off to a great start putting Highclare under pressure from the first touch. Good work in attack from Daya, Aisha and Sylvie resulted in Daya taking an early chance to put the team 1-0 ahead. The team went from strength to strength and doubled their lead shortly after. Highclare came back at the team but good defence from Leila, Norah and Aman protected Reet in goal from any direct shots. Sofia and Mariia worked well in the middle of the pitch to support the attack and at half time the team were 3-0 up. Positional changes and rolling substitutions in the second half enabled the girls to expand their experience and knowledge of the game. Aman showed good attacking skills to score goal number 4 and Aisha was on hand to make some great tackles in defence. Overall, a good, controlled performance against a dogged opposition. Well done girls! Player of the match was Aisha.

Boys Basketball vs West House

On Thursday after school the Basketball Squad went over to West House for a match. After a good start, we let West House take a lead at half time. In the second half, having got used to the court and hoops, we played some great basketball with Cai and Bora making driving runs into the key. Our defence improved, with more energy and marking a player each. The final few minutes were particularly exciting as we got very close to the West House score but at the final whistle we were trailing 23 – 20. A great effort by the whole squad and we look forward to the return match, on home soil, in a couple of weeks.
