Celebrating Success at Junior English Writing Competition

The Highclare School Junior English Writing Competition is an exciting annual event that brings together young writers from across the community, offering them a unique platform to showcase their creative talents. This year, in honour of the 200th anniversary of the National Gallery, pupils were invited to select an artwork from the gallery’s collection as the inspiration for their writing—a wonderful way to bridge the world of visual art and the written word.

On Tuesday, 12th November, children, teachers, and families gathered for the event. Hallfield’s Mrs Raffermati and Mrs Patel were there to support our budding writers, who brought their best to the competition. Many participants were Highly Commended for their efforts and received certificates of participation, celebrating their dedication and creativity.

Well done to all of our pupils who participated in this competition – we are all so proud of you!
